WEBVTT

NOTE
The film has no audio stream at all; it is stripped at encode. These cues are
descriptive: they carry what the picture shows, and the words it sets, to anyone
who cannot see it. They are NOT captions and this file is loaded as
kind="descriptions", which no browser paints. It shipped as kind="captions" for
one day and WebKit's automatic track selection turned it on for every reader who
had captions enabled at the OS level, printing shot descriptions across the
footage on the homepage fold. Omitting the default attribute does not prevent
that; only the kind does.

The film has three registers and the cues distinguish them, because that
distinction carries meaning: live photography is the plant, defocused frames
under type are AIMMS speaking, and the pale drawn frames are AIMMS thinking.

Cue 17 states in words what the picture states in pictures: a person restarts the
machine. AIMMS does not write to PLC, DCS or SCADA and does not execute
setpoints, restarts, interlocks or actuator commands, and that boundary has to
survive for somebody who is hearing this film rather than watching it.

1
00:00:00.000 --> 00:00:02.000
A concrete discharge channel outside a municipal wastewater pumping station. Treated water boils out of a steel pipe in the channel wall and runs hard away downstream.

2
00:00:02.000 --> 00:00:04.500
The discharge fails. The plume breaks up and collapses to a thin trickle, and the water in front of the pipe goes slack and quiet. Further down the channel the water is still moving, because another pump is still running. FAULT.

3
00:00:04.500 --> 00:00:05.750
Inside the pumping station. Three split-case pumps stand in a row on concrete plinths. The nearest one is stopped and still, and a single amber lamp is lit on the control cabinet beside it.

4
00:00:05.750 --> 00:00:07.250
WORK ORDER OPENED.

5
00:00:07.250 --> 00:00:08.750
WORK ORDER OPENED. NOBODY ASKED.

6
00:00:08.750 --> 00:00:11.250
A maintenance technician stands at the stopped pump and holds a phone up to its bearing housing, photographing the fault from where the equipment is. TELL IT. SHOW IT.

7
00:00:11.250 --> 00:00:13.042
A drawn diagram on pale paper. UNDERSTAND. Answered with its sources. A line runs from the field to AIMMS, then fans out to the sources behind the answer. Voice, text, photo, video.

8
00:00:13.042 --> 00:00:14.750
A drawn diagram. UNDERSTAND. Evidence assembled. Four lines converge into one record, labelled SCADA, historian, work history and manuals.

9
00:00:14.750 --> 00:00:16.083
ROOT CAUSE FOUND.

10
00:00:16.083 --> 00:00:17.750
ROOT CAUSE FOUND. AND EXACTLY HOW TO FIX IT.

11
00:00:17.750 --> 00:00:19.458
A drawn diagram. PREPARE. Matched to what is installed. A requested part and the installed configuration slide into line with each other and are checked off.

12
00:00:19.458 --> 00:00:21.250
A drawn diagram. PREPARE. Usable stock, not just recorded. Four units stand on the recorded row; on the usable row only one is solid and the rest are struck through.

13
00:00:21.250 --> 00:00:22.958
A drawn diagram. PREPARE. Supplier requests for quotation under your policy. One request fans out to three suppliers and quotes come back to a single point.

14
00:00:22.958 --> 00:00:24.292
THE RIGHT PART.

15
00:00:24.292 --> 00:00:25.958
THE RIGHT PART. SOURCED. PRICED. READY.

16
00:00:25.958 --> 00:00:30.458
Two gloved hands work a wrench on the stopped pump's bearing housing, the jaw seated on a hex nut. A plain red tag and a red padlock hang from the chained handwheel of the closed isolation valve beside them, so the machine cannot start. The crew keeps the physical work.

17
00:00:30.458 --> 00:00:32.458
A gloved hand presses the green start button on the pump's local control cabinet. The amber lamp goes out, the green button lights, and the motor cooling fan spins up. A person restarts the machine.

18
00:00:32.458 --> 00:00:36.792
Outside, the discharge is running hard again, boiling out of the same pipe into the same channel, and the camera moves in slowly for the only time in the film. BACK IN SERVICE.

19
00:00:36.792 --> 00:00:38.292
A drawn diagram. RETURN. Return verified. A line completes and lands on a green check.

20
00:00:38.292 --> 00:00:39.292
Inside, all three pumps are running, a green lamp is lit, and the technician walks away down the aisle.

21
00:00:39.292 --> 00:00:41.000
A drawn diagram. RETURN. Written back to your systems. Lines run out to your CMMS or EAM, inventory and procurement.

22
00:00:41.000 --> 00:00:42.583
WRITTEN BACK.

23
00:00:42.583 --> 00:00:44.500
WRITTEN BACK. NEXT TIME, IT ALREADY KNOWS.

24
00:00:44.500 --> 00:00:46.000
The channel again, water running, as the film settles back onto its first frame and begins over.
